Senior Stylist and Colourist at Chelsea’s Danilo Giangreco salon, Emy Roccabella has had a great year. Having won the Newcomer of the Year Award at the British Hairdressing Awards 2022, she has recently joined the Revlon Professional Visionaries team to expand her already varied portfolio.
Emy recently set herself the task of creating five different styles using the same model for an editorial photoshoot headed for HAIR magazine.
Here she talks us through the five striking looks that you can create at home!
For this look I sprayed the model’s hair with Revlon Professional Style Masters Memory Spray to produce a loose, tumbling look.
For the second look, I added some dry shampoo, completely brushed out the waves with a Mason Pearson paddle brush and then, as the photographer was shooting, I blasted the model’s hair with the hairdryer to add a dramatic wind-swept effect.
For the third look I was aiming for a pretty, hi-fashion vibe; which I achieved by securing the model’s hair in two low slung, loose pigtails.
I love this photo! I wanted the model to look straight into the camera to grab attention, whilst the hair moved naturally around her face. used her hair as a scarf, but loosened the hair around the hairline to give it a softer effect, and to ensure this shot really had editorial appeal.
For this photo, I wanted to create a more sultry, stylised look for the model. The central section of the low ponytail is braided with an infinity braiding technique and then pulled out to get a broken up texture that leaves a casual but sensual mood to the look.
