UP AND AWAY
The best, long-lasting volume comes from a great blow-dry, so make sure you section your hair and apply Revlon RE/START Lift Up body Foam rrp 7.75 and work on the underneath. This creates a soft fullness that lifts the hair away from the scalp.
Volume looks great when its controlled, you don’t want to look like you’ve emerged from a gale force wind. Remember to tame flyaways and frizz with hairspray or a serum. My favourite product to control volume is Revlon Professional Style Masters Modular Spray, Glamourama, now with a new improved anti-humidity formula rrp £6.90.
SEE THE LIGHT
Layers are your best friend, they work great to frame your face, as well as creating body and volume throughout your hair. This can be emphasised by some hand painted highlights to really bring your style to life.
Lay the foundation for a sky-scraping style with a volume shampoo, then apply a volumising spray to your roots. TOP TIP! Avoid serums; they will flatten your hard work.
To get extra volume, try purchasing a head massager to use in the shower with your shampoo, it will stimulate your scalp
and encourage fuller hair growth. If not use your fingertips!
Use a lightweight round brush to add volume to your hair when blowdrying. The brush will heat up and if it is light enough you can leave it in your hair just like a Velcro roller until it cools down. Style your bangs while your doing your makeup for a multitasking trick!
Always finish blow drying your hair with a blast of cold air, not only does it set the shape in place it also closes the cuticle which maximises volume and shine.
POWER OF PROTIEN
You are what you eat, and this counts for your hair too! Increase your protein intake. It’s great for energy levels, overall health and encourages strong, healthy hair to grow too.
If you love the boosting qualities of using hot brushes and rollers but don’t like curls, don’t let that stop you from using them. A volumised root can be archived with straight ends. Just straighten your hair after using rollers from halfway down your hair shaft to keep the volume you have created.
ATTENTION TO EXTENSIONS
If you’re after a longer lasting volume fix, why not try extensions? Extensions are not just for creating length, but are also the perfect way to boost your body.
